Although coconut oil is one of my favorite multi-purpose beauty essentials, it isn’t for everyone. I’ve recently added Sweet Almond Oil to my hair and skin regimens, and I think you should too. Despite its name, sweet almond oil doesn’t have much of a sweet scent or a scent at all in my opinion, but it definitely does wonders. This lightweight, natural oil is best known for its anti-aging properties, and historically, it has been used in Ancient Chinese, Ayurvedic, and Greco-Persian schools of medicine to treat dry skin conditions. Sweet Almond Oil has also been used in diets for weight loss, so it’s definitely a valuable natural product to give a try! Here are 7 beauty benefits & uses you need to know about this oh so sweet oil, and if you try it, let us know what you think!

  1. For Flawless Skin: Sweet almond oil is an emollient rich in Vitamins E, A, & B. The oil fights wrinkles and dead skin and creates soft and glowing skin.
  2. Substitute it for Leave-In Conditioners: I used the oil as a heat protectant and leave-in, and it left my hair super soft and easy to detangle. I only needed a nickel-sized amount for my whole head!
  3. Promotes Long, Silky Hair: Sweet almond oil is a great source of magnesium preventing hair loss while strengthening the hair follicles and preventing split ends.
  4. Removes Makeup: You can use the oil as a makeup remover! It’s natural, gentle, and removes makeup instantly.
  5. Treats Dandruff: Sweet almond oil has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties that help soothe scalp inflammation and alleviate the symptoms of dandruff.
  6. Reduces Dark Eye Circles: I apply the oil under my eyes at night and in the morning!
  7. Strengthens Nails: This oil promotes nail health and is rich in zinc, the deficiency which causes brittle nails and white spots.
